A Look Back on Averitt Charities in 2023

At the heart of our company-wide mission to help others succeed lies a commitment to our Averitt Charities program and two associate-led initiatives: Averitt Cares for Kids and the Team Up Community Challenge. These special programs are not just about corporate giving; they represent the collective force of our entire team making a tangible difference in the lives of children and communities at large.

Averitt Cares for Kids

Averitt Cares for Kids, a charitable giving organization sustained by the dedication and passion of our associates, has been on a transformative journey for over three decades. The program's evolution reflects a deeply held dedication to giving back, evolving from "Averitt Cares" to "Averitt Cares for Kids" in 2007. The program's mission is clear – to make a meaningful impact on communities and, more specifically, to enhance the lives of children.

In 2023, nearly 95% of associates actively participated in ACFK by giving just $1 per week, while the company makes contributions in honor and recognition of associates’ accomplishments, participation in community service events, and personal life events. The pinnacle of these efforts is reflected in the historic donation of $1,500,001 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital – the largest in the program's history. ACFK's accomplishments have also garnered recognition as the Employee Giving Organization of the Year by St. Jude on three occasions, showcasing a commitment that extends beyond just numbers.

Team Up Community Challenge

The Team Up Community Challenge captures the essence of our community-centric philosophy. This initiative empowers our associates to volunteer with local organizations, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. The program operates on a simple yet powerful principle – each facility plans its events, associates serve in groups, and hours donated are matched by company contributions to Averitt Cares for Kids.

In 2023, a total of 18,764 hours were donated, with 102 teams participating and 205 organizations served. This program not only emphasizes our longstanding commitment to giving back, but also exemplifies the spirit of collaboration that defines the Averitt team.

As our associates continue to drive positive change through the Team Up Community Challenge and Averitt Cares for Kids, the impact goes beyond statistics. These initiatives signify a collective effort to create meaningful, lasting change in communities.
