We’re proud of our track record of promoting from within, and several of our recent Over 20 Team service award honorees are outstanding examples of that commitment. Read their stories below:

  • Greensboro service center director Bobby Adkins  recently celebrated 30 years of service, and he’s a prime example of Averitt’s commitment to promoting from within. Bobby – a Day 1 associate at Greensboro in 1990 – started as a city driver and was promoted to frontline leader in 1994. In 2000, he became an operations manager, and since 2004 he’s served in his current role.

  • Knoxville Driver Support Specialist John Murphy was recently honored for 30 years of service, and he’s another example of our track record of building from within. John began as a Truckload driver, a role in which he served for three years. In 1990, he moved into a dock, yard spotter and quality control role in Nashville before transferring to shuttle in 1994. John also served in central dispatch from 1997-2015 before moving into his current position.

  • Corporate associate Viann Lollar recently celebrated 20 years of service, and she’s a great example of our commitment to career opportunities. Viann started in customer service, and served with our human resources, Truckload operations and international teams before moving to her current night Truckload dispatch role in 2012.

  • Corporate associate Lisa Johnson is another new addition to our Over 20 Team, and she also gives our Truckload team great experience as a Truckload regional manager. Lisa began her Averitt career in customer service, and since that time has served in several roles including our help desk, Truckload customer service team and in her current position.

  • Atlanta East city driver John Sims is another 35-year honoree. John started as a dock associate, and also served as a frontline leader at Atlanta West before moving to Atlanta East to 1998 in a city role.

  • Greenville city driver Dan McCauley is a 30-year Averitt team member, and he’s a great example of safety in action. A city driver since he began at Averitt, Dan has accumulated 27 years of safe driving.

  • Houston city driver Reggie Tharpe was recently honored for 25 years of service. Reggie was one of our Day 1 associates at our Houston facility, and he’s achieved 19 years of safe driving.

  • Houston frontline leader Scott Sanderbeck is another 25-year honoree from our Houston team. Scott began as a city driver in 1995, and in 1998 he moved into his current position.
